Angels Outreach Community Interest Company is a community-led social enterprise, created by the community and run for the community. We exist to ensure that everyone, regardless of background, culture, faith, or immigration status has access to the knowledge, tools, and support needed to plan for the future with dignity and confidence.
Our work sits at the intersection of estate planning, advance care planning, and health equity. While many organisations address individual aspects of end-of-life awareness, Angels Outreach CIC is unique in bringing these elements together through culturally competent, trust-based community engagement, particularly for migrant, diaspora, and marginalised communities.
Why We Exist
Too many families experience unnecessary distress, conflict, and financial hardship because planning conversations never happened, or happened too late. Within Black, migrant, and disadvantaged communities, barriers such as cultural taboos, lack of access to trusted information, language differences, and cross-border legal complexity often prevent people from preparing adequately.
We exist to remove those barriers.
Angels Outreach CIC works to ensure that families are empowered to make informed decisions about:
How they wish to be cared for if they become unwell
How their assets and property should be managed and passed on
How their wishes can be respected across different legal systems and countries
What We Do
We support individuals, families, and communities through:
Estate Planning Education: Raising awareness about wills, trusts, and legacy planning, with particular attention to cross-border estates involving the UK and countries in Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean.
Advance Care Planning (ACP): Helping people understand and document their wishes for care, treatment, and decision-making during serious illness or incapacity, enhancing both physical and mental wellbeing.
Community Engagement & Workshops: Delivering accessible workshops, conversations, and training sessions in partnership with community groups, faith organisations, and charities.
Health Equity & Inequality Reduction: Addressing the disproportionate impact of poor planning on migrant and marginalised communities, and supporting families to build intergenerational security and resilience.
Our Approach
We believe effective support must be:
Community-led – shaped by lived experience
Culturally sensitive – respectful of faith, tradition, and identity
Accessible – clear, practical, and free from unnecessary jargon
Preventative – helping families avoid crisis before it happens
Our work is rooted in trust, education, and empowerment—not fear or pressure.

Advance Care Planning
An advance Statement lets you make general statements, describing your wishes and preferences about future care, should you be unable to make or communicate a decision or express your preferences at the time.
You may want it to reflect religious or other beliefs and important aspects of your life. It is helpful to write this information down, so people can refer to it if they want to know what you like and what is important to you. It is not a legal document.
Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) for Health and Welfare: A legal document that empowers you to appoint a trusted individual, known as an 'attorney', to make crucial healthcare and personal care decisions on your behalf when you are unable to due to illness, incapacity or any other reason.
When creating a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) for Health and care Welfare, let your chosen attorney(s) know if you have an advance statement. This alerts them to what you would want to happen, if they need to make decisions on your behalf.
It only comes into force if you are unable to make your own decisions.
Lasting Power of Attorney for Property and Finances: Gives your attorney the power to make decisions about your property and financial matters. This may include managing your bank or building society accounts, paying bills, collecting your pension or benefits or, selling your home.
Once registered with the Office of the Public Guardian, it can be used immediately or held in readiness until required.
Why Are Advance Directives Important?
Advance directives are essential for several reasons:
Preserve Autonomy: They allow you to maintain control over your healthcare decisions, even when you cannot communicate your wishes.
Relieve Burden: Advance directives ease the decision-making burden on your loved ones, ensuring that they are aware of your preferences and can respect your choices.
Ensure Quality of Life: They enable you to outline your expectations for medical treatment and interventions, promoting a higher quality of life aligned with your values.
Reduce Conflicts: Advance directives can reduce potential conflicts among family members and healthcare providers by providing clear guidance.
Creating Advance Directives
Creating advance directives is a straightforward process:
Consider Your Values: Think about your healthcare preferences, values, and goals, especially in challenging medical situations.
Consult with Loved Ones: Discuss your wishes with your family and healthcare proxy to ensure they understand and support your decisions.
Complete the Documents: Work with legal professionals to create and formalise your advance directives. These documents must comply with your state's laws.
Distribute Copies: Provide copies of your advance directives to your healthcare providers, family members, and your chosen healthcare proxy.
Review and Update: Periodically review and update your advance directives to ensure they reflect your current preferences and circumstances.
Estate Planning
Estate Planning is a proactive and responsible approach to managing one’s affairs during their lifetime and ensuring a smooth transition of assets to beneficiaries after their death. It addresses financial, legal, and personal considerations, providing individuals with control over their legacy and the well-being of their loved ones.
Key components of estate planning services may include:
Will and Testament: A legal document that specifies how a person's assets should be distributed upon their death. It may also include provisions for the care of minor children and the appointment of an executor to carry out the instructions.
Trusts: Legal arrangements that allow a third party, known as the trustee, to hold and manage assets on behalf of beneficiaries. Trusts can be used to avoid probate, provide for minor children, and offer flexibility in distributing assets.
Beneficiary Designations: Ensuring that beneficiary designations on life insurance policies, retirement accounts, and other financial instruments are up-to-date and aligned with the individual's wishes.
Gift Planning: Strategies for gifting assets during one's lifetime to minimise tax implications and potentially reduce the size of the taxable estate.
Charitable Giving: Incorporating philanthropic goals into the estate plan through charitable trusts, foundations, or other giving mechanisms.
Estate Tax Planning: Strategies to minimise the impact of estate taxes, which may include the use of trusts, gifting, and other tax-efficient planning tools.
Probate Avoidance: Structuring the estate to minimise the need for probate, a legal process that validates a will and oversees the distribution of assets.
Probate (Administration of Deceased Estates): The legal process of administering the estate of a deceased person through the Probate Court. This process typically involves validating and executing their will, settling outstanding debts, and distributing the remaining assets to the heirs or beneficiaries as outlined in the will or as determined by applicable laws. It is a crucial step in managing the affairs of the deceased and ensuring a lawful and orderly transfer of property and assets.
The primary goals of estate planning include ensuring that a person's wishes are honoured, minimising tax liabilities, and facilitating the smooth transfer of assets to beneficiaries.
